Yours truly, handed this massive bluegill over the Labor Day weekend. The fish was caught in Northwest Wisconsin on a small lake, which had frozen out about 8 years prior. We were checking the lake to determine the level of recovery. The fish was caught on a large spinner bait, used for bass. Quick measurements produced 11.5″ in length; However, we had no way to measure the girth. After a couple of photos, the fish was released to help the recovery of the lake.
