After the cancellation of the 2020 Mercury National Walleye Tournament, to be held in Fond du Lac, WI, organizers have announced the 2021 tournament will be held.

The 2020 tournament cancellation was a difficult call, but ultimately health concerns related to COVID were the final blow to the tournament and the Walleye Weekend Festival.

The 2021 tournament (43rd annual) does not have an officially announced date yet. However, pending permits with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources have been applied for on June 12 and 13.  These dates correspond to the traditional dates of the second weekend in June.

The event and festival can expect changes to the procedures to adhere to the state of Wisconsin COVID protocols, all of which are not officially known to date.  Stay tuned for registration information once released.  Ultimately, organizers reserve the right to cancel the event should public health concerns worsen.

The Mercury National Walleye Tournament is one of the largest team competitions in the United States.

A full field has 300 teams, with anglers from around the Midwest competing for top honors.  The Walleye Weekend Festival continues to be in limbo for 2021.
