Manitowoc men rescued from Lake Winnebago after being lost in fog January 2, 2011

Lee Kluczinske, 37, and William Kaliska, 40, both of Manitowoc, were fishing on Lake Winnebago and attempted to make their way back to shore in the dense fog, according to the Calumet County Sheriff's Department report.

The pickup truck they were driving struck an ice crack about one mile off shore and after checking the vehicle they decided to call 911, which gave Calumet County Dispatch the GPS coordinates of their location on the lake, 1.3 miles southwest of Brothertown Harbor.

The men were rescued by the Fond du Lac County dive team and brought to shore. One of the men got wet while checking the ice and vehicle but neither suffered injuries.

The sheriff's department was assisted by the Town of Calumet Fire Department and Calumet Medical Center Ambulance Source: www.postcrescent.com
