What is the DNR thinking? Is this just a way to cut funding to the hatcheries, in hope that non-naturally reproducing lakes suddenly become fertile so they don’t have to stock? Fact is there aren’t that many naturally reproducing lakes in southern Wisconsin. Maybe Pike Lake and a few others, but the rest have no chance of reproducing. Wouldn’t a slot work better?
